What laminate is
Laminate is a layered product: a high-resolution decorative layer under a clear wear layer, bonded to a stable core. It is not solid wood, but modern laminates can look remarkably close to oak, hickory, and other species.
Traffic ratings
AC ratings describe durability for residential and commercial use. Higher-traffic areas (entries, kitchens) benefit from a rating matched to real use—your installer can recommend the right class for kids, pets, and furniture.
Care
Dry methods first: sweep or vacuum. Damp-mop with products meant for laminate; avoid soaking the floor. Felt pads under furniture reduce scratches.
